Singer, songwriter and pianist Adey “Adey Belle” Garner

By TCTV Founder Rosalyn Fay

It’s not often you meet a native Montanan in California—so when my family and I met Adey Garner at Cafe Gratitude in Berkeley—I felt an instant kinship with her. “Get out!” she exclaimed as she slapped the table and twirled around. “I’m from Kalispell!” Our mutual excitement about this otherwise silly similarity put us immediately at ease. As she continued to speak openly and emphatically about her new life in the Bay Area and her musical ambitions, I became aware that I was in the midst of someone very special.

Poi Spinner and Fire Dancing Artist Isa “GlitterGirl” Isaacs

By TCTV Founder Rosalyn Fay

Meeting Isa “GlitterGirl” Isaacs came out of a rather serendipitous event. I was sitting at a cafe waiting to go into a yoga class nearby when a guy approached me and asked if he could join me. After a while of surprisingly interesting conversation, I explained how I was looking for inspiring women to feature on my website. He immediately said “I know someone who would be perfect for you.” He was right. I’ve been in awe of Isa Isaacs since first looking over her website. Artist Priya Assal Gheysari

I first met Priya Assal at a New Year’s Eve party in San Francisco, 2007. At the time, I noticed all this cool art on the wall but didn’t realize until months later when I was there (for another party), that she was the artist. It was that night that I really took a closer look at the paintings and started to notice some themes I hadn’t noticed before. Most of the paintings (around 20) hanging throughout the house were of powerful female characters. Each one was very unique and had a distinct “personality” but nearly all had one thing in common, one eye open and one eye closed. Read more…

Mother and Simple Living Advocate April Gentile-Mulholland

By TCTV Founder Rosalyn Fay

April Gentile Mulholland and I were good friends in high school. Even as a teenager, April had a strong sense of who she was and what she believed. She had a lot of integrity and I admired that in her. As life often happens, we went our separate ways after high school but I frequently thought about April and wondered what became of her.  Well, wouldn’t you know it, thanks to Facebook and a mutual friend, we reconnected last year. It had been 16 years since we last spoke!  I was thrilled to be back in touch and not soon after, we made arrangements to meet up at her ranch in Idaho. Read more…
