Meeting Isa “GlitterGirl” Isaacs came out of a rather serendipitous event. I was sitting at a cafe waiting to go into a yoga class nearby when a guy approached me and asked if he could join me. Assuming I was being hit on and slightly annoyed (yet also a little intrigued by his courageous move), I hesitantly agreed. After a while of surprisingly interesting conversation, I explained how I was looking for inspiring women to feature on my website. He immediately said “I know someone who would be perfect for you.” He was right. I’ve been in awe of Isa Isaacs since first looking over her website. I first met Priya Assal at a New Year’s Eve party in San Francisco, 2007. At the time, I noticed all this cool art on the wall but didn’t realize until months later when I was there (for another party), that she was the artist. It was that night that I really took a closer look at the paintings and started to notice some themes I hadn’t noticed before. Most of the paintings (around 20) hanging throughout the house were of powerful female characters.
